A suspected joyrider reportedly broke into Kim Kardashian’s Hidden Hills property and allegedly drove away in a vehicle belonging to one of her staff members, prompting Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies to respond to the high-profile residence.
Deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the property around 3:45 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report that a man had entered the residence and was allegedly taking items. Authorities arrived at the multimillion-dollar estate and located a male suspect on the property.
According to law enforcement, deputies arrested the man on suspicion of burglary and vehicle theft. Investigators also believe he took a vehicle from the property and drove it around the surrounding neighborhood before officers intervened. A source familiar with the situation said the vehicle was reportedly owned by a member of Kardashian’s staff rather than Kardashian herself.
The suspect was taken into custody and booked while authorities continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the break-in. Officials emphasized that the investigation was still in its early stages, meaning additional details could emerge as detectives review evidence and determine exactly what happened.
LASD Sgt. Chris Sonderlund said the case remained under investigation and that authorities were still in the preliminary phase of gathering information. Kardashian and her children were reportedly not staying at the Hidden Hills estate when the incident occurred. The family had been living at a nearby rental property for several months while extensive renovations were being carried out at the mansion.
